The success of the company is largely determined by its relationship to corporate social responsibility (hereinafter referred to as CSR) today. CSR in the international business community acts as a fundamental principle of business ethics. There is an opinion that in the Russian business practice the concept of CSR remained unknown until the 2000s and now we can observe the formation process of corporate social responsibility in Russia. Nevertheless, during the Soviet era, industrial enterprises controlled a significant part of social responsibility, but other constructions were used to designate this concept. This study examines the extent to which the Soviet tradition of social responsibility has preserved and influences the development of the modern company's CSR strategy today. The study was carried out in the case-study format (consideration of one unique "case"). Object of the study is a large industrial chemical enterprise.
