The Gender Composition of Corporate Boards and Company Performance

Currently, the issue of studying the factors that affect at the financial performance of companies is popular in the scientific community. One of such researchers is the gender composition of the board of directors. This paper offers one of the options for an econometric assessment of the existence of the dependence of financial results of companies and the presence of women in the composition of the Board. By methods of regression analysis of panel data, data on 231 publicly traded companies of Ukraine were evaluated. The statistical significance of the influence of the presence of women in the board of directors on the financial result of the company is shown, which is manifested in the predominantly positive dependence of the above-mentioned indicators. The data on the structure of the boards of directors of Ukrainian companies were analyzed, the positive dynamics in the part of the representation of women in them was revealed. The conclusions confirming the importance of further development of the gender composition of the boards of directors in Ukraine.
