Popular Video Games: Analysis of Success Factors

Video games became an importsnt part of our culture. Like any other product, the video game has a set of inherent, internal attributes, as well as characteristics that are directly related to the product itself. This information forms the quality of products, determines what position the product will occupy in the market. In modern society, the issue of classification of information has become a demanded task. It was proved that information about ranking, professional awards has a good predictive ability of financial success of products. Research works from the field of movie and music success use this information, which assess the creative achievements of the group of creators by the professional community. Most works from the field of analysis of the video game success take into account information about technical characteristics or qualitative components of games, but information about awards is not included in the analysis. Therefore, this paper examines the impact of certain characteristics of video games on their financial success, including in the analysis variables that relate to the professional recognition of this cultural product.
