Normalization of the Use of "Soft" Drugs among Young People in Everyday Life

Student: Vishnevskaia Ekaterina

Supervisor: Nadezhda Nartova

Faculty: Saint-Petersburg School of Social Sciences

Educational Programme: Sociology (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2018

In my graduation work, I studied a new aspect of modern society, such as the normalization of the use of soft drugs. To date, this current is spreading with great speed among young people. In the course of my research, leitmotifs were conducted to identify factors in the initiation of the use of soft drugs, as well as to understand how young people interpret this practice, whether they connect it with deviant behavior and how consumption is legitimized in society. In addition, it was important to determine whether there was an impact from the environment of the individual and how addictive behavior was combined with a healthy lifestyle. All these aspects I considered in the thesis.
