Problems of Biotechnological Companies During Market Entry

In this work both world and Russian biotech industry will be analyzed. Also, review of this market as well as it's perspectives and problems will be conducted. Analysis revealed that the most urgent problem is inability for most biotechnological companies which research essentially new drugs to manufacture and promote developed medicines. For the purpose of revealing main approaches to solve this problem typology of these companies will be framed so that businesses will be grouped by type of decision which was made. There are several alternatives: patents’ for developed drug sale, production of researched medicine and partnership deal (including M&A) with another company which has productive capacity. While conducting typology of selected firms’ special features of relevant industries as well as companies’ characteristics and their development results. Special methodic for open source data (which reveal companies’ operational results) gathering was developed. Also, cluster and factor analysis were used as well as linear regression model. Identified pattern zone of using particular solutions while producing medicine could be used by biotech startups.
