Development of Informative and Methodological Support of Cost Accounting External Audit

The main purpose of this study is to develop information and methodological support to the audit of production costs and to determine cost of goods for the production sector enterprises. The practical relevance of the topic concerning the audit of production costs consists in that the developed guidelines should contribute to a more efficient audit of production costs. The following tasks were set to achieve this goal: - to consider methods and tools of the external audit of production costs; - to identify and evaluate hazards of the cost accounting and cost of goods determination at the enterprise; - to assess the system of internal monitoring of the accounting of production costs and cost of goods determination at the enterprise in question; - to develop a strategy and plan of the audit of production costs and cost of goods determination; - to propose ways of improving the accounting of production costs and cost of goods determination. As a result of the study conducted, there was a method for external audit of production costs tested, including the audit strategy and plan with description of audit procedures. In addition, there were guidelines developed following the conducted audit of production costs and cost of goods determination in order to improve the efficiency of the activity in question.
