Social and Cultural Meanings of Rap in Today`s Russia: Audiences, Publics and Communities

This paper deals with contemporary Russian rap culture and considers this musical form from the perspective of inclusion of its representatives in communication with each other and their participation in the activities devoted to the development of rap culture. The work outlines the structural components of the rap culture, which is viewed as a set of social and cultural practices that constitute different types of relations between rappers and listeners. The conducted research allows to distinguish features of one of the most dynamically developing segments of Russian mass culture.
