Soviet Military Science in 20-30s of the 20th Century

This paper concentrated on Soviet military science in the USSR in late 20s - early 30s of the XX century. This time of substantial changes in the Soviet Union which connected with collectivization. Collectivization had a considerable influence on science in the USSR. This work analyzes changes in the specific institute like military science. After the First World War and Civil War in Russia soviet military scientists were Interested in modernization of army. This paper studies how soviet military predicted future war. The work with historical sources showed that military scientists had very different point of views about development way of new army. Specific situation in soviet society after Civil War enforce soviet government to pay attention to ideas of old-regime officers, but it was fundamental problem for new soviet military, which wanted to occupy main positions in the army. This confrontation between military was key moment for the military science. Military scientists tried to demonstrate innovative ideas which were preferable to new soviet philosophy better than position of their opposition. Historians didn’t pay enough attention for this topic, because ordinary interests in this area usually connected with the first period of Great Patriotic War.
