The work examines the space for creativity allowing architects to carry out their activities after 1954. In this thesis architecture is represented not as aesthetic discourse or construction practice but as the “area” of modernity formation The emphasis of the work is transfer foreign architecture to the USSR. The current research is devoted to process of adopting of modernism in Soviet Union and transformation of term “modernity” in soviet architectural theory and practice in the Thaw.
