Strategic Financial Risk Management (Minority Shareholder View)

As a result of the crisis events of recent years, the level of uncertainty in Russian business has risen. The difficulty of forecasting operational results and vulnerability to tightening financial conditions adversely affect the investment attractiveness of Russian corporations. Work includes, on the basis of literature research, analysis of the role of minority shareholders in corporate governance, the quality of minority shareholders' rights in Russian companies and its impact on investment attractiveness; the determinants of the financial decisions of the corporation are examined in detail. Based on the analysis of risk profile of RusHydro and Lukoil, a research of the company's exposure to financial risks was performed; for the PJSC "Lukoil" a regression model was created with the aim of investigating the possibilities to minimize the impact of financial risks on the valuation of the company's business.
