Partsellation in Terms of Actual Division of the Sentence in German Political Discourse
2018
Current research considers the phenomenon of partsellation as a method of the actual sentence segmentation in the German political discourse.

Key words: partsellation, institutional discourse of reaction, institutional discourse of politics, expressive syntax.

The research is aimed at a syntactic and rhetorical-stylistic analysis of parceled constructions used in the German institutional discourse of reaction and in the institutional discourse of politics, as well as a linguopragmatic description of the effect of parceled constructions on human consciousness.

Our analysis of parceled structures in the pre-election rhetoric of A. Merkel and M. Schulz allowed us to confirm by examples our thesis that partsellation as an expressive syntactic device is an instrument for implementing strategies and tactics of manipulating human consciousness by politicians in pre-election rhetoric.

The results of the analysis of the provisions of the programs of political parties (die LINKEN and SPD) revealed that the partsellation as a means of information compression is an effective method of creating slogans in German political discourse. In addition, the analysis of the research material showed that the partsellation interacts with such stylistic paths and figures as: the antithesis and anaphora.

In the course of the study of the institutional discourse of reaction, we analyzed the convergence of the partsellation with such diverse stylistic methods as inversion, metonymy, political allusion, metaphor, repetitions, anadipolysis, rhetorical questions, irony, phraseology.

The practical value of the work consists in the possibility of using the results of the research in theoretical courses on discursive analysis, linguoculturology, medialinguistics, special courses in the stylistics of modern German, psychology, and also in practice in training PR (public relations) specialists.
