Strategies of Polite Interaction and their Prosodic Realization.

The subject of dissertation paper is “Strategies of Polite Interaction and their Prosodic Realization”. It is devoted to the study of strategies of politeness in interpersonal communication and to the role of intonational realization. The aim of this research is to identify politeness strategies and prosodic features in phatic interaction (small talk). The paper consists of an introduction, three chapters, conclusion, and list of references (sources used). The introduction describes the aims and objectives of this study, relevance and brief overview of the subject of this research. The first Chapter describes the definition of politeness and the basic concepts of politeness. The second Chapter is devoted to intonation and the role of prosody in the implementation of polite communication strategies. The third Chapter includes a description of the features of the intonation of politeness, materials, methods, and results of the research. The conclusion contains all the results of the dissertation research. The list of references includes a list of sources and a bibliography. This work contains 71 pages, 1 figure, 2 tables. 59 sources were used for writing.
