Last decades the problem of death rate from malignant neoplasms becomes actual for a modern society. According to the WHO, the number of deaths from cancer in the world will increase to 13.1 million by 2031, and the number of new cases will grow by almost 70%. In Russia there is a gradual increase in the proportion of cancer in the overall mortality structure. So, if in 1995 in Russia for 13.6% of deaths neoplasms were the cause of death, in 2016 for 15.8%. The final qualification work examines the dynamics of mortality from 1990 to 2016 in the regions of the Volga Federal District in the selected age groups from the main forms of neoplasms, the average age of death in general and the individual nosologies of this mortality class. Primary morbidity and mortality from various forms of cancer have also been compared to determine whether a low incidence of disease contributes to high mortality. In addition, the contribution of the main forms of cancer to expected life expectancy was assessed and the main problems of statistical recording of mortality from neoplasms were identified.
