The master's thesis is devoted to the study of internal migration flows in the developed countries, their scales and directions, which play a huge role in the formation of the demographic structures of states. The territorial scope of the study includes such states as Australia, Great Britain, Germany, Russia, the United States. The features and trends in the processes of internal mobility were studied. The study includes a comparative analysis of the data presented in the sources of statistical agencies. On the basis of the analysis of relative indicators, we compared the scales, and also identified the directions of internal interregional migration for the territories of the countries studied at the level of the regions, states, federal states. The highest mobility within the countries is marked by the United States and Great Britain, which can be explained by the impact of external migration, as well as by fewer barriers. In the context of the direction of internal flows, the existing suburbanization processes occurring in these countries are common. In the framework of this study it was found that the identified directions of internal migration can be considered comparable between the countries studied, but it is also necessary to take into account the characteristics of the states for which there are outstanding directions.
