Nationalism as a Subject of Philosophical Reception: Discussions of the Second Half of the XX Century

The aim of the study is to provide an understanding of the concept of nationalism as a form of civic religion. The goals are as follows: (1) a reconstruction of the role of voluntary action for the creation of solidarity bonds in the philosophical works written after Hans Kohn's 'Idea of Nationalism', (2) an analysis of the arguments on nationalism being a specific form of religion, (3) an attempt at clarification of the ethical outcomes of such a reading.
