Development of Criteria for Inappropriate Hospitalization by Analyzing Hospital Statistics
Health Care Administration and Economics
At present, the appropriateness of hospitalizations in medical organizations does not lose its significance. This is due to the fact that the number of hospitalizations directly depends on the quality of medical services provided, as well as on the continuity in the provision of medical services, including compliance with protocols for managing patients with a particular disease at different levels of medical care. The number of appropriate hospitalizations and the length of hospital stay are the most important indicators of effective hospital care . A qualified evaluation of these indicators allows to determine the rational use of hospital resources, and also, if necessary, to redistribute the provision of medical services between the primary and inpatient level of medical care for the population.
