This paper is dedicated to the perception of Ayn Rand and her reputation in Russian cultural context on the basis of the Russian press from 1997 to 2017. As a material for the study, articles from American and Russian print media were selected for the period 1936 - 2009 and 1997 - 2017 respectively. As a result of the work, conclusions were drawn about the ambiguous attitude of the Russian press to the figure and creativity of Ayn Rand, whose name is mentioned in print media in the context of politics, economics, literature, libertarianism and business. This research will help to understand the perception of American culture by a post-Soviet person.
