This paper investigates the reception of the play "Andorra" by Max Frisch in the USSR from 1962, the year of publication of the original play, until 1991. The works of the Swiss writer, well-known in the USSR, have never been lost out of publishers’ sights: his fiction has been reprinted in the Soviet Union since 1965 almost without interruption. Nevertheless, one of the works, namely "Andorra” (1962), seems to have been forgotten in the Soviet time, as it was never included in the complete works, nor printed separately. Thus, this study is devoted to the reconstruction of the "shadow" existence of the three translations of the play found during the work. The study of reception also refers to the critical articles about Frisch's literary career, staging of "Andorra" (1989) and articles on it.
