Wage Comparison Between Men and Women

During world’s history, discrimination in any form has been a continuous battle; whether it is religion, gender, race, appearance, or something else which makes one person different from another. One of the most significant discrimination problems world’s population is battling, occurs in the workplace. Men, who are as equally experienced, trained, and have the same education as women are constantly paid more. Gender wage gap is the average difference in payment for men and women. Besides, global gender pay gap accounted for 68% in 2017, which means, that on average women earned just 68% of men. Today, both, governments and large private companies understand this world problem and provide women with specific opportunities in order to reduce the gap, which is actually shrinking but with decreasing speed1. In this research, we provide evidence of the wage gap at labor market entrance in Moscow. While numerous studies analyse gender pay differences in general, little has been written on gender pay gaps among young people at career entry, especially in Russia.
