This diploma paper studies determinants of Russian adult mortality, based on Russian Longitudinal Monitoring Survey (HSE - RLMS) annual survey for socioeconomic conditions of Russian population: household and individual level. Since 2001, the survey accounts for cause of death. That allows to distinguish between different risk factors associated with most common causes of death in Russia: cardio - vascular deceases, cancer and accident. The data allows to observe data dynamics, accounting for the individuals’ reports for the period 1994 - 2016. The data also allows for gender distinction, rather than just control by gender dummy. The results reveal factors, which are significant in explaining changes in total adult mortality. Moreover, the sample allows to reveal risk factors, significant only to one gender.
