The gender pay gap is an extremely relevant topic nowadays. While the majority of countries are fighting against it, there still is a problem. This paper discusses main theoretical background of this phenomena and then concentrates on the case in Russia taking into account a modern time period of 10 years. We work with panel data from RLMS using econometrical tools to find the evidence of the pay gap in recent year’s data. Also, we look closer at different fields and evaluate the trends. We use the results to compare them with the previous researches that were done on this topic in Russia, both during the transition economy period right after the fall of the USSR and the early post-transition period. The main results are the evidence of the pay gap existence in Russia and new trends compared to previous outcomes.
