Dissertation by A.A. Chernyaeva “The influence of school on the music education of students in a metropolis” considers the possibilities of school and city in the field of music education of students. In the course of research it has been revealed that school does not prioritize improving the quality of music education and does not encourage students to use “internal” and “external” resources of city’s music education opportunities. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that determine the influence of school on music education in a metropolis. The object of the study is music education of students in a metropolis. The subject is the influence of school on the content of music education of a student. The main results of the study are as follows: • FSES requirement for the results of principal educational program of compulsory education in Music can be implemented only if students' music education is not limited to Music lessons at school. • Metropolis provides extensive opportunities to form students' individual educational routes in the field of music education, but school plays an insignificant role in it. • One of the reasons for this situation is that in the field of music education, real results do not affect a student’s mark in Music at school.
