Problems of Studying the Foundation of the Constitutional System of the Russian Federation in the School Program with Relevance to the National (Federal) Education Standards Basis General Education Requirements

This research work considers how federal state educational standards of basic general education contribute to the study of the foundations of the constitutional system of the Russian Federation in the framework of the school course "Social Studies". The study examined the process of the formation and development of social science education in the Russian Federation from the moment of restructuring to the present day. A comparative analysis of state standards in the field of education was carried out, which revealed the features and new features of the adopted federal state educational standards of basic general education. The study also highlighted the state indicators of the quality of education that have developed over the past few years. The results of research on these indicators are considered and the main problems in the field of social studies are identified. Basically, students are poorly assimilated knowledge from the "Politics" section, in particular, show poor results in the knowledge of the fundamentals of the constitutional system of the Russian Federation. The reason for such weak achievements is the non-compliance of the educational-methodical complex on the subject "Social Studies" with the requirements of the federal state educational standard of basic general education. At the end of the study, the main problems of studying the “Social Studies” school course were highlighted and ways to overcome them were suggested.
