Corruption in the System of Regional Governance in the Republic of Mari El

Synopsis. The master thesis on a subject: "Corruption in the system of regional government: the case of the Republic of Mari El" consists of 4 parts: Introduction, 2 Chapters, Conclusion. The list of the used literature and 15 Applications are presented in the thesis. In Introduction the author defines relevance of a problem, a subject, an object and the purposes of studying of corruption as a system of a social phenomenon. Theoretical aspects of a research of anti-corruption policy in Russia are given in Chapter I of the master thesis. Corruption is considered through a historical prism, the scientific concept of the term is given. The author shows corruption as a socio-political phenomenon and represents an anti-corruption regulatory framework in the Russian Federation. In II the author analyzes the situation connected with corruption in the Republic of Mari El, gives many examples from practice on the basis of open sources, shows interrelation of corruption activity of officials with the low standard of living of the people, with some loss of the authority of the region. Also in Chapter II the author suggests a number of effective measures for a minimilization of corruption manifestations. Inferences on corruption in the modern world are drawn in Conclusion of the master thesis. Corruption today has the status of the international problem and requires the system solution by efforts of the state, both the region’s and the country ‘s public organizations and the world in general.
