Accelerated Educational Program of Training of Specialists in the Area of Information Technology and Data Science

It is noted that the quality and pace of professional training in the field of information technology in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) now cannot completely meet the domestic needs of the labor market. The paper examines the current state of staffing specialists in the field of information technology, existing and future gaps between the capacity of the labor market and the supply of qualified personnel. To estimate the trends of the regional labor market, we analysed the regulatory documents, including the “Decree on the innovative and digital development of Yakutia” by the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), and the state program “Digital Economy of the Russian Federation". The development and launch of new educational projects, including new forms higher and professional education are laid down in the action plan in the area of “Personnel and education” of the program “Digital economy of the Russian Federation”, and are also included in the cooperation agreement between the autonomous non-profit organization (ANO) “Agency for Strategic Initiatives”, the ANO “Digital Economy” and the ANO “Institute for Internet Development”. The objective of this dissertation thesis is to design an accelerated curriculum for training specialists in the field of information technology and data science. Taking into account the results of preliminary research a set of necessary competencies are determined, they are currently in demand by the main companies - leaders of the IT industry in the Republic, the formation of which is aimed at the accelerated curriculum. We have determined the probable target audience, assessed the economic parameters and the required personnel and material-technical support. The structure and content of the accelerated curriculum of specialist training in the field of information technology and data science are determined.
