Influence of ESports Championships on the Share Prices of Sponsors

This project proposal presents a study on the impact of the results of eSports games on the dynamics of the stock of the companies sponsors. Top 3 of all eSports leagues will be considered in this research: Defense of the Ancient 2, League of Legends and Counter Strike: Global Offensive. In particular, it has been taken of the shares of such sponsor companies as Samsung, MegaFon, Intel, HTC corporation, MSI, Asus, Comcast Xfinity, Logitech, Lenovo, BMW, Honda, AMD. Hypothetically, various important eSports events should have a strong impact on the profitability of the sponsoring companies, namely the increase in share prices. One of the most crucial goals of this research is the identification of the most profitable eSports teams and championships. In addition, there will be an analysis related to the comparison of sponsor companies, namely, which industries are more profitable to invest in eSports and why. The efficient market hypothesis also proves the relevance of the study, as all people have access to information because of what market efficiency will reflect the impact of events related to eSports.
