Factors of Political Regime Change in Central Asia: Comparative Analysis

This paper looked into different social movements and/or collective action in different year that had taken place in post-soviet Central Asian countries and Transcaucasian. In order to know what factors might cause destabilization with the country, this paper uses crisp-set-QCA to find out those factors. Author of this thesis asks questions like is there a way to somehow forecast social movement with combination of factors in particular country. Moreover, to find out what factors pursued citizens to join the social movements. To explore this phenomena, paper selected variable according to social movement theory and analyzed economic, civil, political factors and a combination of those factors that could have accounted for the event for Central Asian and Transcaucasian states. Author analyzed seven variables for each country that might influence the social unrest. Only three out of seven variable proved to be significant.
