The aim of this study is to make an adaptation of J. Jost’s System justification scale (SJ). Data was collected online via social media from Russian sample (Women = 675, Men = 312). Final questionnaire had 125 statements, that were included 9 different scales. Respondents had to agree or disagree with each statement, using a 9-point scale (from 1 - “totally disagree” to 9 - “absolutely agree”). Results from exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis showed that all items of SJ scale create a single scale and results of analyzes were better without seventh statement: “Our society is getting worse every year”. (8 statements: x² = 3925,307* , CFI = 0,918, RMSEA = 0.128; 7 statements: x² = 3585,927* , CFI=0.943, RMSEA = 0.10). Results of multifactorial analysis showed full invariance. The cumulative results make it possible to argue that the short version of the methodology can be used in further studies. Moreover, the results will have to match the results obtained in other countries.
