This work is devoted to the comparative analysis of two works of the Third wave of emigration: S. D. Dovlatov's novel "A Foreign woman" and M. D. Girshin's novel "The Diary of the simpleton", in particular, their systems of emigrant characters, as well as the space and time in which they coexist, which, we hope, will lead to a deeper understanding of this social and literary phenomenon and will allow to build a connection between the authors' reflections.
