Cultural Tolerance within the Context of Cross-Cultural Communication

The thesis titled «Cultural tolerance within the context of cross-cultural communication» is dedicated to the research on the phenomenon of tolerance, its aspects, spheres of influence, future perspectives and the ways of development and rising the awareness of cross-cultural tolerance among representatives of different cultural back-grounds. During the research the following points were analysed — cross-cultural communication, its branches, and its common grounds with other disciplines. What is more, the phenomena of tolerance, its features, branches and goals in the context of intercultural communication were observed. The object of the study is cross-cultural communication, the subject — tolerance within the process of intercultural interaction. The aim of the work is to analyse the main problem, which is the following — is there any possibility to acquire the skill of tolerance and rise its level. In theoretical part method of literature analysis was applied. In practical part a set of activities aimed at rising the awareness of cultural tolerance were suggested, which were also tested during a survey, which used a quantitative analysis method. The results of the survey give an answer to the question, if there is a possibility to acquire the skill of tolerance within the context of cross-cultural communication. Practical value of the paper is the following - the results of the research can be used for future deeper analysis, suggested materials and activities can also be used for the development of cross-cultural communication skills of the representatives of different cultural back-grounds.
