Scripts of Perception of Virginity by Generation of Millennials: The Case of Young Muscovites

In the modern world, the concept of virginity has a rather ambiguous definition: the versatility of this concept is determined by changes in the institution of marriage, as well as by numerous interpretations of virginity in various fields. The current realities of society make it impossible to comply the traditional attitude towards virginity, and the understanding of the attitudes of modern generation regarding this concept is extremely vague. The purpose of this study is to identify scenarios of virginity perception by the generation of millennials as a generation that captures the average age of first marriage and the onset of sexual debut in our country. Using a qualitative analysis of in-depth interviews with representatives of the millennial generation, we described how millenials perceive the structure of the concept of virginity, and also revealed 5 scenarios of perception of virginity.
