Strategies of Gambling Behavior on the Sports Betting Market across Different Socio-demographic Groups of Muscovites

This study focuses on betting strategies. Studying the question of strategies for the betting behavior, it is important to consider all the elements included in the concept of "strategy". As part of this study, strategies for betting on sports were studied through the analysis of three main aspects of their manifestation - the basic practices of betting on sports were described, that gives us a basic idea of ​​what the process of betting means and what characteristics are most common in these practices ; Also, six main groups of motives for betting on sports were identified and the main differences in these motives were identified based on the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents; In addition, four main groups of landmarks which are used while making decisions on sports betting were identified and then later also highlighted the main differences based on the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents. In addition, heuristics derived by Cahneman and Tversky were analyzed as possible decision-making strategies under uncertainty when betting on sports.
