This thesis is an attempt at highlighting some issues pertaining to the institute of impeachment. Impeachment is a constitutional procedure that protects the constitutional order by depriving high-ranking public officials of their authority when they abuse that authority to violate the Constitution or law. The relevance of studying this topic is related to the fact that impeachment is one of the most basic principles of building a democratic and legal state and it defines the limits of state power exercised by the high-ranking public officials. The main aim of this research is to perform a systematic and detailed analysis of the constitutional grounds for impeachment in their theoretical, normative and practical components. Within the topic, the legislation governing impeachment procedures, impeachment grounds and gravity of the violation of law will be examined and analyzed.
