Student: Chepurina Margarita

Supervisor: Irina Kozina

Faculty: Faculty of Social Sciences

Educational Programme: Sociology (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2019

This project is about studying the work motivation of young IT-specialists. The main purpose of the study is to develop and test a tool for measuring the work motivation of young IT-specialists. This work is relevant because today the most popular and needed specialists in the market are specialists in the field of IT. It is important for many companies to understand their specifics to properly build the process of communication with such employees. In order to identify the motivation of IT-specialists it is necessary to use certain measurement tools. However, many tools are outdated and not suitable for measuring the work motivation of such specific creative professionals. Moreover, such tools often give only general information of professional groups with specific needs. In my research, I would like to develop a tool that could solve these problems. I consider it to be possible that such a tool can be used in IT-companies by managers and HR-specialists who need to measure the work motivation of IT-specialists. In the future, I would like to conduct a case-study to identify the work motivation of employees in a particular company. I suppose it to be quite interesting and useful.
