Nowadays there is a high differentiation between the subjects of the Russian Federation both in living standards and in informatization level. In the scientific community exists an opinion that digital inequality is one of the causes of inequality in the standard of living. The development of measures aimed at reducing the inequality of the quality of life through its growth in underdeveloped subjects requires a complex, statistically based study of the problem. The aim of this study is to identify the nature and extent of the impact of information technology on the standard of living of the population. To achieve this goal, a standard of living index has been modeled, the values of which have been used as the dependent variable in the regression analysis of panel data. The constructed models made it possible to estimate the impact of expenditures on information technologies on the standard of living of the population, as well as to compare the amount of their contribution in comparison with the influence of the production characteristics of the region.
