Using Creative Spaces for Tourism Development in St. Petersburg

The main aim of the research is to develop a conceptual approach to the development of tourism based on the potential of the creative spaces of St. Petersburg, to draw up proposals on the directions of tourism. In order to achieve this goal, the author sets the following tasks: conducting analysis of theoretical approaches to the definition of creativity, creative space, creative industries and their classification; conducting research on the existing forms of creative spaces, their types of activity, considering the possibility of integrating creative spaces into the modern tourist sphere; analysis of current policies in this area for St. Petersburg, studying the popularity of creative spaces of St. Petersburg among tourists at the moment, their involvement in final tourist program, conducting a comprehensive study of the potential of creative spaces of St. Petersburg for the development of the tourism industry tourism using creative spaces. The author applies different research methods in current research: a comparative analysis of proposals on the tourist market in St. Petersburg; content analysis of existing practices and tours based on creative spaces of Berlin and the selection of best practices; online survey of tourists requests for the development of tourism in this direction; content and web analysis of the official sites of creative spaces; regression analysis. As a result of scientific research, it was found that the creative spaces of St. Petersburg have the necessary potential for the development of tourism directions and can be considered as new attractions that complement the programs of cultural tourism, new attractions for creative tourism. The achievements of this study could be used to develop tourism program based on creative spaces and are could be interesting for a wide range of stakeholders: travel companies, local governments, creative spaces management.
