The Adaptation Practices of Blind Students in Higher Education Institutions of Moscow

As a key focus of this study were considered practices of adaptation of blind students in higher educational institutions of the Moscow, analyzed on the basis of semi-formalized interviews with students who have a medical diagnosis of "blindness" and students in universities in the Moscow. There are 4 forms of adaptation, such as formal, didactic, social and professional, were analyzed at various stages of study at the university, thereby identifying barriers that limit the process of adaptation, key actors involved in this process, as well as specific contexts which students themselves endow blindness. In addition, the characteristic features of one or another type of adaptation were identified in relation to a specific temporary stage of adaptation.
