This study examines the distribution of the contactless payment system in accordance with the economic and social problems that Japan confronts at the present stage. The object of this study is the system of contactless payments in Japan, and the subject is the strategy of distributing contactless payments in conditions of high popularity of cash in Japanese society. The purpose of the study is to identify the conditions, factors and processes that promote contactless payments among the Japanese population and identify their effectiveness. The implementation of the goal involves the solution of a number of specific tasks: - To identify the reasons why Japan seeks to increase the use of cashless funds in the country as soon as possible. - To reveal the methods chosen by the government to increase the percentage of the population paying for purchases in non-cash money, up to 40% -To investigate the role and place of applications or special cards for conducting contactless payment -To analyze the impact of the introduction of contactless payment systems, basing on the example of the card Suica and the store Lawson - Tp evaluate the effectiveness of the methods and the mood of the Japanese population by questioning The theoretical and methodological basis of the research is the work of leading Japanese researchers in the field of innovative development, including monographs, articles, analytical reviews. In the course of the study, the methods of scientific generalization, statistical and comparative analyzes, a systematic approach to the study of economic phenomena and processes, methods of analysis, synthesis, and expert assessments were used. The value of this work lies in the fact that a holistic study of the transformation and expansion of contactless payments in modern Japan is conducted, and the latest data from statistical studies and social surveys are used.
