Emotions in the Workplace: Emotional Intelligence and Its Influence on HR Managers Activity

This study will focus on how the skills associated with emotional intelligence have an impact on the professional activities of HR managers. The first section will be devoted to the analysis of skills that, according to experts in personnel management, are the most important for passing the selection, and the description among them of those who are in the area of ​​emotional competence, described by Goleman. In the next section, we will briefly analyze possible assessment methods aimed at identifying the necessary competencies from candidates. The third section will highlight the basic skills that are required for a successful professional activity in the field of personnel management. The fourth section is devoted to how companies shape these skills and competencies among specialists, through the organization of trainings and other educational activities. The fifth section will describe the rules that govern and regulate the expression of feelings in the workplace: the rules of feeling and the rules of expression of feelings. In the sixth section, a classification of methods and techniques of emotional regulation will be given, among which proactive methods aimed at emotional regulation outside the context of a stressful situation and reactive methods that imply a direct reaction to an external stimulus.
