Over the past decade, the role of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation in the socio-economic development of the country has increased significantly. The Arctic territories have a huge resource potential for the development of industrial production in this territory. Today, the Arctic has strategic importance for the country and opens up new opportunities for the economic development. In this regard, the state program “Social and Economic Development of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation” was developed to increase the level of development of the Arctic territories and to effectively use budget funds. This master's thesis aims to develop a model for assessing the effectiveness of the state program "Social and economic development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2025" and formulate recommendations for its improvement. The work includes an introduction, three chapters, conclusion, a list of references and application. The first chapter contains the theoretical foundations of the analysis and evaluation of state programs. The second chapter describes the main socio-economic problems of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, describes the characteristics of the state program, and states a model for evaluating the effectiveness of the program. The third chapter presents the results of the study, conclusions, suggested recommendations for improving the program selected for the study. The reserach being made indicates the feasibility of adjusting the program for its further implementation.
