Prohibition of Employment Discrimination

The major purpose of the present study is to eliminate current gaps and contradictions in the legal regulation of the prohibition of employment discrimination in Russia. This research presents a comprehensive analysis of the notion and types of employment discrimination and different procedural aspects of proving discrimination at court, as well as an exploration of other legal mechanisms for protection from employment discrimination. The main outcomes of the study are the following. Firstly, a coherent concept of employment discrimination is developed. Secondly, the main types of employment discrimination are distinguished. Thirdly, the facts necessary to prove discrimination at court are established and proposals for improving the proof procedure are made. In addition, the role of other state bodies and of some legal entities in combating discrimination is evaluated.
