The present work is devoted to the study of the legislative technique of criminal law. Despite the large number of studies of legislative technology and scientific recognition of its significant role in creating effective and high-quality legislation, this issue remains uncertain and one of the least developed in the theory of law. Legislative technique occupies an important place in criminal law-making. Effectiveness of the adopted laws, their clarity depends on the quality of legislative technique. Thoughtful, rational, scientific approach to law creation contributes to a significant increase in its quality and, therefore, lets to avoid problems in law application. The consequences of the ineffective use of legislative techniques in the process of legislative drafting are the instability of the law and the subsequent frequent intervention in legislation to correct errors, and sometimes a distortion of the real will of the legislator in the process of applying the law. The purpose of this work is a comprehensive study of the legislative technique of the current Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The study was conducted on the basis of the works of Russian and foreign scientists: experts in the field of legal theory S. S. Alekseev, D. A. Kerimov, Yu. A. Tikhomirov, A. F. Cherdantsev, and criminal law L. L. Kruglikov, K. K. K. Panko, A. V. Ivanchin, S. D. Brazhnik and others.
