Features of Visual Perception by the Recruiter of the Jobseeker’s Profile

Applying for a vacancy is one of the most common ways to initiate contact with a potential employer. The purpose of this research is to study two psychological processes: a visual perception of a resume of job seekers and decision-making by recruiters about the candidate’s suitability for the job. 25 recruitment specialists took part in eye-tracking experiment. The results showed that the applicant’s nationality adversely affects the decision on the candidate’s suitability for the job, and an indication of the achievements in the resume is positively influence to callback to applicant.
