Development of High-Potential Employees By the Example of IT Company

The final qualifying work presents a research of practices of high-potential employees development used in large IT companies in Russia. As one of the most knowledge-intensive and rapidly developing spheres of business, IT has several distinctive features in human resources management. Moreover, high-potential employees’ management becomes the most important for it. In recent years, this topic has gained popularity among the international scientific community. The issues of talent development are thoroughly considered in conceptual works and empirical studies in the context of Europe, North America, and Asia. In the course of the work, a study of the practices of developing high-potential employees in IT companies in Russia was conducted. At the first stage, the existing literature on this topic was analyzed. At the second stage, three in-depth semi-structured interviews with HR managers in large Russian IT companies were conducted. And then a study using interviews, analysis of documentation and information in open sources of the company - leader in the market of classifieds in Russia were made. The description of practices in each of the companies, as well as formulated features in the development of high-potential employees in these organizations, are results of this paper.
