The Concept of Just War in Contemporary Political Theory

The concept of just war is an ancient and one of the most popular concepts all around the world considering war theories. It has been developing since Aristotle to nowadays including a lot of brand new ideas and approaches. This work dedicated to liberal approach which became dominant after Vietnam War. This work will include the description of liberal approach to just war theory in contemporary political theory, big piece of criticism (including traditional, liberal and author’s) and actual problems of just war. Moreover, the new conflicts and the logic of asymmetric conflicts will be discussed as required elements of military conflicts. Just war concept is in situation of challenge by modernity. Concept was created in logic of military conflicts of XX century. But the logic of modernity, development of technique and means of communication, globalization and internet creates new military discourse where concept of just war faces moral and ethical problems. Traditional line of arguments which was formed by Michael Walzer will be argued from positions of political realism, new liberalism discourse, logic of virulence and evident political cases.
