Purpose: This paper aims to explore the localization of the projects of Feng Xiaogang with Liu Zhenyun at the translation stage. Research gap: Within the topic, the translations of Liu Zhenyun and Feng Xiaogang’s works along with the works of several authors were examined and analyzed. While in some translations there is a tendency to keep the original titles and precedent-setting Chinese characters for the sake of transmitting the precise meaning, in the others they mostly strive to change the primary variants so as to provide cultural adaptation for target countries or regions (Onetov, Damdinova, 2017). However, little to no studies examine linguistic peculiarities of the works outlined in the present study. Localization and translation are the large parts of market driven forces. In the study we also enumerate the reasons for the successful implementation of the selected projects and vice versa. Methods: We will perform primary and secondary data collection and two complimentary types of qualitative data analysis. Expected outcome: It is expected that this paper will underline the specific methods of localization and translation of the projects of Feng Xiaogang with Liu Zhenyun in different countries. Keywords: localization, translation, Chinese culture, Chinese literature, Chinese films
