Such historical resources as Hanshu and Shiji have a quite complicated structure. Historical records had been written long before than Han shu, but they have a similar structure that should be examined in detail to define correlation of these texts. That is why textual researches of complex structured historical sources are essential in context of Chinese history review. The second reason of the importance of this research is that historical sources were prone to editing during all the time. The history had been rewritten for many times and scripts do not contain the initial information that was hundreds of years ago. With the use of text classification into groups based on specificities of structure and genre, it becomes possible to determine the authenticity of the source. The purpose of this research is to find the dependence between Han shu and the Historical Records of Sima Qian in order to prove the existence of unique Chinese tradition of writing texts. As the result, treatises about rivers and canals of Han shu had been translated for the first time. Due to this translation we classified Han shu for groups with special structure and genre. Secondly, comprehensive analysis makes possible the determination of Han shu and Shi ji dependency. Finally, using the method of classifying the text for individual groups provides an opportunity to find text passages of manuscripts, that were not saved up to now.
