Nowadays there are observed tendencies of increase in time parents devote to their children. I use 2003-2012 years of American Heritage Time Use Study data to investigate how time spent on childcare influence wages of parents. Heckman selection model is used to take into account the possible influence on earnings, which cannot be observed as some parents are unemployed at the time of the survey. The results show that only several types of childcare influence differently on wages of men and women. Moreover, there is observable difference on how time with children influence wages for part-time and full-time workers disregarding gender. Passive infant care during household chores influence negatively on wages of both men and women.
