This paper explores South Korean contemporary art which is facing a problem of dilution of its cultural originality due to the globalization process. The present study aims to analyze works of Korean modern artists in order to find out how they represent their cultural identity in art. Within the topic, works of several authors were examined and analyzed. However, few studies focus on exploring national originality in Korean contemporary art of the late 90s until now. I will use problem analysis and visual method in analyzing works created by South Korean artists. The results of the paper may reveal what national originality of Korean society is according to its modern art and become a theoretical base for further research.
