This paper aims at defining which factors influence the quality of life. In addition, there is a problem of comparing subjective and objective indicators. Self-reported life satisfaction is one of the subjective factors, which considers the human factor sufficiently. Thus, the purpose of the study is to determine the factors that affect life satisfaction. As a result, the main factors determining the quality of life are identified. The influence of different factors on life satisfaction is presented on the basis of data for Social Progress Index, Prosperity Index and Gallup World Poll. The results of the cross-country comparison allow to draw conclusions about the problematic aspects of life in various regions of the world.
